New & Improved…

by in Uncategorized

Just to let you all know, in this short month of Feb, I’ll be launching some new & exciting improvements to Travelling Starfish!

To keep things fresh, I’ve decided to add 3 new monthly features that I’ll be starting in the next few weeks –

1) The Word on the Street – I’m a traveller and so are a lot of my friends!  I’ve decided to setup an interview-style post every month that asks some of my friends, colleagues and family about their experiences across different parts of the world.  It gives you all a bit of a break from me (haha) and also a new perspective on some parts of the world I’ve never been to.  For Feb, my good friend Melissa from Toronto will tell us all about her recent travels to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico!

2) My experience – This new monthly post will highlight the negative and positive experiences I have with particular airlines, hotels or anything else I can think of.  I decided to put this in here as I typically include this in many of my posts but I wanted to find a way to pull at least one experience a month into something more focused.  For the kickoff of this new feature, I’ll be talking about a recent experience of heading from Tel Aviv to London with EasyJet through London Luton Airport.  You may be surprised of what I have to say!

3) Expat Expo – This month, I’m launching a new page on my site called Expat Expo.  Since I’ve coined my blog as “a travel blog with an expat edge” I thought it would be a great opportunity to hear about the expat experiences of others.  Every 2 weeks, I plan to ask fellow expats their thoughts on why they love being an expat.  To kick this off, I’ll be the guinea pig and tell you all my thoughts on expat life and why I love it.

I hope you find one, two or three of these new additions interesting.  Please let me know your thoughts.

As always, happy travels & talk soon:) Miriam x

In my experience, you’ve got to be careful not to get too structured. You’ve got to remember to listen to inspiration, and if you overstructure, you can stifle that.

Probably better to just focus on one of these this month. Habits are the hardest thing we can change, and you gotta be careful not to put unrealistic expectations on yourself.

I vote for #1 on the list

    Hello,
Thanks for your feedback – I really appreciate it. I totally understand what you mean about structure. It’s a tough balance sometimes to get to when writing. I’ve had feedback from others asking me to be a bit more structured. The 3rd on the list is really a resource page where expats can voice why they love being an expat. This will be ongoing and an online hub for those comments. Again, thanks for your thoughts & I look forward to hearing more from you, Miriam :)
